The build-up

Matchday has a build-up

Every match gets a TV-style preview: form, the tale of the tape, the key men and a pundit's prediction. Team news goes out an hour before kick-off, so nobody sees your line-up early.

  • A countdown in the top bar to your next kick-off
  • A get-ready checklist for your own matches
  • The rest of the round, live and on the scoreboard

Your club

An inbox that runs the season

Bids for your players, results, injuries and messages from the other managers land in your inbox. Your assistant manager keeps an eye on tired legs, weak spots and youngsters who need minutes.

Transfers

Wheel and deal in the windows

Bid for anyone in the league, haggle with counter-offers and sign free agents in sealed bids. A wage budget keeps it fair: you can't buy the title.

  • A shortlist that tells you when a target is listed
  • Club finances: wages, gate money and prize money
  • Your assistant points out where you're weakest

Training

Bring your players on

Set the squad's intensity and focus, put players in groups with their own drills, and give anyone an attribute to work on or a new position to learn. Young players grow fastest when they play.

  • Condition carries between matches: rotate wisely
  • Youngsters come up from the youth team every summer
  • Seasons roll on: your club, older and wiser

Seasons that carry on

A season review, youngsters up from the youth team, and your club into the next season.

Stats and awards

Leaderboards, player of the match and of the round, and a team of the season.

Your club, your colours

Pick your club's name, colours and crest. Share each round to WhatsApp, or get it by email.

How it works

A season in four steps

  1. Create your league

An organiser sets it up and shares an invite link with 4 to 20 people. Pick when matches kick off, lunchtime or after work, and how long each one lasts.

  2. Build your squad

Everyone starts with an equally strong squad, then trades in the transfer windows. Empty places can be filled by computer clubs.

  3. Set your tactics

Formation, roles, instructions and a match plan. The game picks your strongest fresh eleven unless you'd rather choose.

  4. Matchday

Watch live and change things from the touchline, or let your plan run the team. Results, news and the table update straight away.

Fair by design

Made for groups

Bragging rights at work

Questions

FAQ

Can I play now?

Tactalon is in a closed playtest with our first groups. If you've been invited, sign in at the top of this page with your email. Otherwise, register interest and we'll be in touch when there's a place for your group.

Do I need to download anything?

No. It runs in the browser on a laptop or phone. On a phone you can add it to your home screen.

How long does a match take?

The organiser picks 40, 60 or the full 90 minutes to watch live. Replays are there any time afterwards, and you can skip straight to the chances.

What if I can't watch my match?

The match plays anyway. Set a match plan and your assistant follows it, making changes when you're winning, losing or tired. You get the result and the replay.

How many people can play in a league?

From 4 to 20 clubs. If you're short, computer-run clubs fill the gaps.

Is it fair if someone plays more than me?

Everyone gets the same squad strength, budget and rest between matches. Time spent on tactics and training helps, but nobody can buy their way to the title.
